The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) is set to highlight grassroots innovation at Startup Mahakumbh 2025, India’s largest startup convergence, from April 3-5 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The Skill India Pavilion, located in Hall 4, will feature 15 homegrown startups nurtured under the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), spanning sectors such as sustainable agriculture, eco-conscious textiles, AI services, and waste-to-wealth solutions.
MSDE Secretary Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari emphasized the role of entrepreneurship in India’s economic growth, stating, “Entrepreneurship today is thriving beyond metro cities, reaching villages and tier-two towns. Through Startup Mahakumbh, we are not just showcasing enterprises—we are telling stories of resilience and aspiration.” India’s startup ecosystem has grown significantly, with over 118 unicorns, reinforcing its position among the world’s top three startup hubs.
Among the featured startups are Field-X Robotics, specializing in agricultural automation; Dhanna Food Products from Tamil Nadu, which has grown to a ₹1 crore turnover; and Geeta Herbal Products, a Himachal Pradesh-based women-led enterprise focused on sustainable personal care. These ventures have flourished with mentorship, market linkages, and training under NIESBUD’s SANKALP and EDP programs. With 3,000+ startups, 1,000+ investors, and delegations from 50+ countries, Startup Mahakumbh 2025 will provide an opportunity for these entrepreneurs to connect with policymakers and investors. In Guwahati, the event is expected to boost engagement between investors and Northeast-based startups, which are steadily emerging in sectors like organic food processing and eco-tourism. The region’s entrepreneurs stand to benefit from networking opportunities and institutional support, aligning with India’s larger vision for decentralized and inclusive economic growth.
