The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) held a dialogue with a German delegation visiting India, led by State Secretary Ms. Leonie Gebers from the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS). The objective of the dialogue was to extend further co-operation between the two countries in the areas of skill development and pave pathways for mobility of skilled workforce from India to Germany.
The dialogue focused on using India’s skilled workforce to address Germany’s workforce shortages. It also discussed the new immigration law adopted by the German Bundestag, which outlines three pathways: qualifications, experience, and workforce potential. These pathways are formalized through the EU Blue Card, Experience Card, and Opportunity Card, respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) said, “We are actively preparing Indian candidates for global mobility and Germany is a country of focus for us. I am confident that this dialogue with the German delegation will pave new pathways and strengthen our partnership ever more”.
