The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) and Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED) signed an MoU to implement the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Abhiyaan (PMJANMAN) Scheme in habitations of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). . The partnership is a strategic plan to converge efforts towards attaining the vocational education and skilling component under the scheme.
TRIFED, the nodal agency for implementing PVTGs Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) under the scheme, will coordinate with State Implementation Agencies (SIAs) to mobilize communities, provide tools and equipment, map VDVKs based on PVTG habitations, and share knowledge on sustainable economic activities for establishing VDVKs, as part of the MoU.
NIESBUD will mobilize groups, assess training needs, develop modules, and conduct training through institutions. Training will focus on financial literacy, value addition, and business acumen. PMJANMAN scheme will provide basic facilities, education, health, nutrition, connectivity, and sustainable livelihood opportunities for PVTG households. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, MSDE, said, “In this context, the vision of the scheme draws no parallel and I am thankful that MSDE will play such a crucial role to bring it to life”.
