The Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) has concluded its Youth Outreach Program at Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management, highlighting the health benefits and versatility of palm oil in culinary creations. The event, which gathered budding culinary talents and seasoned experts, was highly acclaimed.

The competition, categorized into “Amateur” and “Expert” groups, attracted up to 40 students. The “Amateur” category, specifically for 1st and 2nd-year students, allowed participants to showcase their culinary skills for 1 hour and 30 minutes, allowing them to express their creativity and passion for cooking.

The “Expert” category, designed for 3rd and 4th-year students, required participants to create a vegetarian starter, non-vegetarian main dish, and accompaniment in 2 hours and 30 minutes, showcasing their culinary expertise in a harmonious, well-balanced meal centered on palm oil. The Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management expressed their enthusiasm for their involvement in this event, stating, “The Master Chef competition showcased the knowledge and skills of the students who were using palm oil for the first time. It was a great learning experience for our students. Thank you once again Bhavnaji and Malaysian Palm Oil Council.”
