Montra Electric, the commercial electric vehicle brand of the Murugappa Group, has inaugurated a new electric three-wheeler dealership at Betkuchi in Guwahati, strengthening its presence in Northeast India.
Operated by SK GROUP X (OPC) PVT. LTD., the dealership will provide sales, servicing and spare parts support for the company’s Super Auto passenger vehicle and Super Cargo electric carrier. The inauguration was attended by Montra Electric Managing Director Jalaj Gupta and SK GROUP X Managing Director Sapan Kashyap, along with customers and dealer partners. Customer vehicle deliveries followed the inauguration.
The company has established 11 outlets with 35 service facilities across Northeast India over the past two years. Assam recorded 5,196 electric vehicle registrations in September 2026, including 5,136 electric three-wheelers, highlighting the segment’s growing significance in the state’s transition towards sustainable mobility.
In Guwahati, the dealership is expected to improve access to electric three-wheelers for passenger transport operators and last-mile delivery businesses. As the region’s principal commercial hub, Guwahati offers opportunities for electric mobility solutions amid growing transportation and logistics requirements.
Gupta said Assam remained a key growth market, while Kashyap emphasised the dealership’s commitment to reliable customer service. Montra Electric operates across four business verticals: electric three-wheelers, small commercial vehicles, tractors, and medium and heavy commercial vehicles.
