As thousands of students across Sikkim begin their board examinations, the State’s Minister for Education, Sports & Youth Affairs and Law & Parliamentary Affairs, Raju Basnet, has conveyed his warm wishes and encouragement to all candidates appearing for the important tests this year. In a message issued on Tuesday, the Minister called upon students to face the examinations with confidence, calmness, and a positive attitude, reminding them that steady preparation and self-belief are the keys to success. Basnet said that board examinations are an important stage in every student’s academic life, but they should not be seen as a reason for stress or fear. Instead, he encouraged students to consider them as an opportunity to show what they have learned during the year. He advised students to maintain a balanced routine, get enough rest, and focus on writing their exams carefully and honestly. According to the Minister, remaining calm and using time wisely during the examination period can make a big difference in performance.
In his message, the Minister also highlighted the dedication shown by students over the past year. He said that many students have worked hard despite various challenges, and their efforts deserve appreciation. He encouraged them to trust their preparation and attempt the examinations with full concentration. He further noted that success in life does not depend only on examination results but also on continuous learning, discipline, and determination. Basnet also expressed gratitude to teachers across the state for their consistent efforts in guiding students. He said teachers play a very important role in shaping the future of young learners by helping them understand subjects clearly and building their confidence. He acknowledged that the commitment of teachers, along with the cooperation of parents and guardians, creates a strong support system that helps students perform better in their studies. The Minister also mentioned the role of parents in supporting their children during examination time. He urged parents to create a peaceful and encouraging environment at home so that students can prepare and appear for exams without unnecessary pressure. According to him, positive encouragement from family members helps students remain relaxed and motivated.
Reaffirming the State Government’s commitment to improving the education system, Basnet said that the government continues to take steps to strengthen educational infrastructure, provide better learning resources, and ensure a supportive academic environment for students across Sikkim. He said the government’s focus remains on improving the quality of education so that students are well prepared for higher studies as well as future career opportunities.Education officials in the state also stated that necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth conduct of examinations at various centres. Adequate supervision, proper seating arrangements, and other facilities have been put in place so that students can take their exams in a comfortable and fair environment. Authorities have also appealed to students to reach examination centres on time and carefully follow the instructions provided by examination officials.Students appearing for the board examinations expressed mixed feelings of excitement and nervousness, but many said that the Minister’s encouraging message has boosted their confidence.
