In a significant step toward boosting India’s media and entertainment industry, Hon’ble Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jayant Chaudhary, chaired a vital meeting with the Media and Entertainment Skills Council (MESC). Under the theme “Skill India to Build India,” the gathering emphasized MESC’s role in equipping young talent for an increasingly competitive global market. Industry luminaries like Mohit Soni, CEO of MESC, and Oscar-winner Dr. Resul Pookutty, joined the event, focusing on aligning skill development with international standards.
Minister Chaudhary underscored MESC’s mission to address the skill demands in media, broadcasting, and the AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics) sectors. He emphasized a collaboration with industry leaders and government bodies, adding, “MESC’s initiatives are crucial to making India a global talent hub, especially with the government’s AVGC policy supporting creative growth.”
In Guwahati, where the media sector is expanding, stakeholders see MESC’s efforts as a pathway to local job growth. With enhanced skills, Assam’s youth are better positioned to seize opportunities, adding value to the region’s economy.
