Medhavi Skills University Ties Up with Scotland’s Qualifications Body for Global Opportunities for Indian Students

Medhavi Skills University (MSU) has established a strategic Progression Partnership with the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), aiming to enhance the internationalization of Indian higher education and align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This partnership is designed to provide globally aligned, skill-integrated learning pathways, enabling both Indian and international learners to engage in work-integrated, credit-bearing programs in India. These pathways offer clear progression routes towards universities and worldwide employment opportunities, directly supporting the NEP 2020 initiative to integrate vocational and higher education, strengthen national credit frameworks, and foster high-quality global connections.

A notable signing ceremony featured a delegation from SQA, including Ms. Margaret Curran, International Regional Manager for South Asia, alongside colleagues Mr. Mark Hill, Ms. Alyson Burns, and Mr. George Kolath. Prof. (Dr.) Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi, former Chairman of the NCVET and an architect of India’s credit-based frameworks, emphasized the significance of globally benchmarked collaborations during the event, which aim to promote seamless credit mobility and lifelong learning for the youth in India.

Mr. Pravesh Dudani, Founder & Chancellor of MSU, remarked that this partnership is pivotal in establishing globally aligned academic and career pathways for Indian learners. It seeks to enhance the recognition of qualifications and facilitate progression opportunities, thereby strengthening India’s work-integrated education landscape while endorsing the broader vision of global mobility and lifelong learning. The collaboration involves the provision of work-integrated, credit-mapped programs that conform to SQA’s international standards. Qualified learners will be able to obtain SQA qualifications alongside MSU degrees, which will create flexible and cost-effective educational pathways leading to higher degrees abroad. Emphasis will be placed on high-demand sectors to guarantee strong employability and industry relevance. Ms. Margaret Curran stated that this partnership is directed towards making globally benchmarked qualifications more accessible for Indian learners and forming structured progression avenues that enable academic mobility and wider international opportunities.

Learners from India and other regions such as South Asia, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Africa, and ASEAN will benefit from internationally recognized credits and dual certifications. They will also have the option to complete a substantial portion of their education in India before progressing abroad, thereby enhancing confidence in Indian qualifications and boosting academic and career mobility through SQA’s quality assurance systems and international networks.

Mr. Kuldip Sarma, Co-Founder & Pro-Chancellor of MSU, observed that by merging SQA’s renowned qualification frameworks with MSU’s industry-integrated learning strategies, the partnership is crafting clear, affordable, and globally aligned pathways. This initiative is poised to expand learner mobility and ensure employability, thereby supporting the evolving skills ecosystem in India under the National Education Policy. Overall, the MSU–SQA partnership signifies a critical advancement in India’s higher education and skills sphere, laying the groundwork for future-ready graduates who are prepared for global mobility and aligned with industry needs.
