Medanta reports record Q1 FY26 results; eyes Guwahati expansion

Global Health Limited (Medanta), one of the largest private multi-specialty tertiary care providers in North and East India, posted its highest-ever quarterly performance for Q1 FY26, with total income rising 19.1% year-on-year to ₹10,513 million. EBITDA grew 22.6% to ₹2,553 million, while Profit After Tax surged 49.6% to ₹1,590 million.

The growth was driven by a 13.3% rise in occupied bed days, improved ARPOB of ₹66,584, and strong performances from both mature and developing hospitals. International patient revenue jumped 33.8% to ₹636 million. OPD pharmacy revenues also saw a 21.6% increase. CEO Pankaj Sahni credited the robust results to higher patient volumes and improved realizations. He confirmed the commissioning of a 110-bed hospital in Ranchi last month and reiterated plans to open a 550-bed facility in Noida by Q2 FY26.

Where Medanta is developing a major facility, healthcare analysts expect a significant boost to the city’s private healthcare infrastructure. The project is anticipated to cater not only to Assam but also to the wider Northeast, tapping into growing medical tourism demand and strengthening the region’s tertiary care capacity. Founded by Dr. Naresh Trehan, Medanta currently operates five hospitals with over 3,000 installed beds across India.
