Medanta – The Medicity, Gurgaon, recognized by Newsweek as India’s Best Private Hospital for six consecutive years, has announced the expansion of its specialized oncology outreach in the Northeast with a strong focus on precision oncology powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics. At an awareness event in Dimapur on September 16, held in association with NGO Beyond Cancer and Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR), Dr. Amit Bhargava, Director, Medical Oncology, presented recent advances that enable personalized treatment based on tumour DNA sequencing. He emphasized that AI-driven tools are transforming cancer care by predicting treatment responses and identifying new drug targets, while highlighting the critical role of early detection in improving patient survival rates.
Medanta’s presence is expected to significantly enhance the city’s healthcare infrastructure. With Nagaland reporting one of the country’s highest incidences of tobacco-related cancers, the availability of advanced consultations and diagnostics locally is likely to reduce patient migration to distant metros and create new opportunities for growth in the healthcare services sector.
In line with this expansion, Medanta doctors conducted OPDs and introduced a dedicated Northeast helpline (0124-6930090). The initiatives follow an MoU with the Government of Nagaland under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) and the launch of a health awareness booklet in partnership with IDAN, endorsed by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
