Medanta announces Bhoomi Poojan for 400-bed super-specialty hospital in Guwahati on October 31

Global Health Limited (Medanta), one of India’s largest private multi-specialty tertiary care providers, has announced the Bhoomi Poojan ceremony for its upcoming 400-bed super-specialty hospital in Sarusajai Industrial Estate, Guwahati, to be held on October 31, 2025. The event will be graced by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, alongside Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman and Managing Director, Medanta, Mr. Pankaj Sahni, Group CEO, and senior government dignitaries.

The Guwahati facility will offer comprehensive tertiary and quaternary care, including advanced transplant programs, robotic surgeries, and a full range of diagnostics—labs, radiology, nuclear medicine, and preventive health check-ups. “Medanta’s entry into the Northeast aims to bridge the healthcare gap and make high-quality medical care accessible to the people of Assam and neighbouring states,” said Dr. Trehan.

The hospital’s establishment is expected to transform the city into a regional healthcare powerhouse, driving growth in healthcare infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and employment. It will also enhance medical tourism, drawing patients from across the Northeast and neighbouring countries. The project marks a key step in Medanta’s expansion, extending its network of six operational hospitals and reinforcing its mission to deliver accessible, compassionate, and cutting-edge healthcare for all.
