Royals Challengers Bangalore are happy to welcome Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell to the squad for their upcoming IPL match against Mumbai Indians on April 9, team head coach Mike Hesson said.
Although joining the camp after completing his quarantine period, he will not be available for RCB’s game against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday, April 5 due to a clause set by Cricket Australia for contracted players.
Although the Australian was not part of the squad to conclude the Pakistan tour with a T20 match in Lahore on Tuesday, he will have to wait until April 6 for his appearance in the squad.
In a video shared by Hesson on RCB’s official Twitter page, Hesson was seen saying, “It is quite clear from Cricket Australia’s point of view that no contracted players are available before April 6. So, whenever they come here, they cannot play before April 6.”
“We were as well aware of it as the other side. We have planned for that. Maxi (Maxwell) will be with us and will be available from the 9th.”
RCB have played two matches this season, recording one win and one loss.
