Thu, 11 Jun 2020 : Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj district has become the latest victim to the attack of locust swarms on the fields blossomed with vegetation and the residential areas as well which began on Tuesday night and continued through Wednesday. However, no major loss of crop has been reported.
According to local media reports, villages, such as Dharwara, Madeni Singh ka Pura, Tala, Hathsara and Lohandi have been affected by the locust swarms in Prayagraj districts. The Locusts reportedly entered Prayagraj from Mirzapur district, and prior to that the swarms were spotted in Singrauli and Sonbhadra districts on Monday and Tuesday.
Following the Locust attack, the local administration rushed into action and specific anti-Locust chemicals were sprayed to shoo the Locusts away. The Locals also sprung out in the open with loud utensil noises and even loudspeakers dispensing out loud music.
