Manipal Hospitals has formally rebranded Medica North Bengal Clinic and Medica Cancer Hospital, Rangapani as Manipal Hospital Siliguri and Manipal Hospital Rangapani. This follows last year’s acquisition of MedicaSynergie and marks Manipal Hospitals’ strategic expansion in Eastern India.
Established in 1976, the newly christened Manipal Hospital Siliguri has served over 36 lakh patients and is known as the region’s first multi-specialty hospital. With 60 specialist doctors, the facility is now expanding key departments such as Cardiology, Gastroenterology, and Critical Care, alongside upcoming Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology units.
Meanwhile, Manipal Hospital Rangapani continues to operate as the region’s only comprehensive cancer care unit. It handles 150 radiation sessions and 600–700 chemotherapy treatments daily, with plans to add 50 beds, three advanced operation theaters, a second Linac machine, and a modern ICU.
On the re-branding of both the hospitals, Mr. Deepak Venugopalan, Regional Chief Operating Officer, Manipal Hospitals – South, shared “The rebranding of Medica North Bengal Clinic and Medica Cancer Hospital to Manipal Hospital Siliguri and Manipal Hospital Rangapani marks an important step in our journey to extend Manipal’s integrated care model to Eastern India. This move reflects our continued focus on delivering consistent clinical excellence and patient-centric care across geographies, while building a unified healthcare network that meets the diverse needs of the communities we serve.”
Dr. Ayanabh Debgupta, Regional Chief Operating Officer, Manipal Hospitals – East, shared, “The integration of Medica’s rich legacy with the expertise and scale of Manipal Hospitals is both a strategic alignment and a forward-looking vision to transform healthcare access and quality in Eastern India. With Manipal Hospital Rangapani emerging as one of the region’s most active oncology centers, and the development of Manipal Hospital Siliguri as a robust superspeciality infrastructure, patients can now receive comprehensive, high-quality cancer care close to home. We are building a deeply connected healthcare network—rooted in clinical excellence, guided by patient-first values, and committed to making advanced care more accessible and affordable across North Bengal and beyond.”
Commenting on the transformation, Mr. Sanjay Singha Mahapatra, Hospital Director, Manipal Hospital Rangapani& Manipal Hospital Siliguri, said, “With Manipal Hospitals stepping into Siliguri and Rangapani, we are entering a transformative phase for healthcare in this region. Our expansion of infrastructure, addition of cutting-edge specialties, and connectivity to Manipal’s strong national networks will give the residents of North Bengal access to world-class medical care. This rebranding allows us to establish new standards in clinical excellence, technology, and patient satisfaction.“
Siliguri , a healthcare hub for North Bengal and neighboring regions is expected to benefit significantly from this transformation. With improved infrastructure and connectivity to Manipal’s national network, local residents can now access world-class treatments without traveling to metros.
