Manipal Hospitals, one of India’s largest healthcare networks, announced its strengthened focus on cardiac sciences and the successful transition of Medica Superspecialty Hospital into Manipal Hospital EM Bypass at a press conference in Burdwan. The session was addressed by Dr. Kunal Sarkar, Director – Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery, Manipal Hospital, Mukundapur Cluster.
The integration, completed last year, positions Manipal Hospitals as the largest healthcare group in Eastern India with rebranded facilities in Kolkata, Ranchi, Siliguri, and Rangapani. With seven hospitals in the region—including five in Kolkata and two in Siliguri—the group now offers 1,200 beds, 450+ ICU beds, seven Cath Labs, and a team of over 1,100 doctors.
Highlighting pioneering achievements, Dr. Sarkar noted breakthroughs such as Eastern India’s first wireless pacemaker injectable AI procedure, over 50 TEVAR procedures, and advanced interventions like TAVI, CSP implantations, and Bachmann’s Bundle Pacing. “Cardiology excellence is not merely about successful procedures but about an ecosystem of early diagnosis, advanced intervention, and intensive care,” he said. Equipped with state-of-the-art Cardiac Intensive Care Units, Manipal Hospitals aims to deliver patient-focused and outcome-driven care, ensuring timely access to advanced treatment for patients from Burdwan and beyond.
