Magical Mangroves Phase 4: The campaign launched by Godrej & Boyce and WWF-India

Godrej & Boyce, the flagship company of the Godrej Group, in collaboration with WWF-India (Worldwide Fund for Nature-India) announced the Phase-4 of their “Magical Mangroves” conservation awareness campaign. The volunteer-driven campaign, launched in 2020, trained over 200 volunteers or Mangrove Ambassadors to sensitize over 27,000 citizens across 7 coastal states of India.

Over the past three years, the campaign has reached millions of Indians through social media posts, capacity building, outreach, knowledge building, expert talks, competitions, and a robust social media campaign.The Magical Mangroves program, a WWF-India collaboration, encourages volunteers to raise awareness for mangrove forest protection and preservation, crucial for coastal communities’ survival. Mr. Jamshyd Godrej, Chairman & Managing Director Godrej & Boyce remarked “This is the time to engage in such programmes, dialogue and more between all of us, organisations and individuals alike to put greater focus on conserving and nurturing key Blue Carbon systems like our mangrove forests”.


The organizations have curated a new phase of the Mangrove Ambassadors program, covering seven coastal states in India. The program is divided into three components: Skilling, Awareness, and Action. 90 ambassadors trained to lead informative sessions on mangrove habitat importance.
