One of India’s top 5 FMCG companies, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) has been conferred with the ‘Leaders Award’ by Frost & Sullivan and TERI for its sustainability practices for 2020. Presented for the Medium Business category under FMCG Sector of Sustainability 4.0 Awards, the recognition acknowledges HCCB’s efforts to adopt green manufacturing practices in a consistent and structured fashion.
HCCB’s factory in Jalpaiguri secured the maximum out of the total score of 1200 covering more than 125 touch-points in its category to win the award. The assessment was based on four major parameters; Purpose, Partnership, Planet and People and 13 sub-parameters of the Sustainability Excellence Model. The assessment also included on-site visit of the factory by an independent panel of judges. Due to the constraints of the current pandemic the 11th edition of the awards this year was held virtually with all the participants and delegates gathering online in a celebration of sustainability practices.
Executive Director (Supply-Chain) of HCCB, Mr Alok Sharma said, at HCCB, sustainability is an integral part of its business strategies. The award for the Jalpaiguri factory will further motivate the company to replicate the success across other locations.
