Kolkata students achieved top ranks in the SOF Olympiad exam for 2023-24

Three students from Kolkata have secured top ranks in the SOF Olympiad exam for 2023-24. Devayudh Das, a seventh-grade student from Delhi Public School Megacity, achieved the first rank in the International English Olympiad, earning an international gold medal and a merit certificate. Ritam Samanta, a seventh-grade student from Hariyana Vidya Mandir, also claimed the first rank in the International Social Science Olympiad, receiving an international gold medal and a merit certificate.

Dia Bothra, aeighth-grade student from Sushila Birla Girls School, also claimed the second rank in the International English Olympiad, earning an international silver medal and a merit certificate.This year’s SOF Olympiad saw participation from approximately millions of students across 70 countries, including over 1,26,950 students from Kolkata.

Notable schools from Kolkata, including Delhi Public School, B.D.M. International (CBSE) were among the participants.The Science Olympiad Foundation held an awards ceremony in New Delhi to recognize the top three worldwide rank holders from grade 1 to 12 who participated in seven Olympiad exams for the academic year 2023-24. Distinguished guests included former Chief Justice of India, Justice Dipak Misra, and renowned author Chetan Bhagat.At the ceremony, former chief Justice of India, Justice Dipak Misra addressed the gathering of over 700 attendees, he said, “When you talk about competition, success follows it because everyone competes to succeed. Success is the real achievement”.
