KFC India provided meals to migrant workers and daily wage earners struggling to earn a livelihood and afford meals during the ongoing pandemic. The company extended support to communities in need in Assam as part of their ‘Feed a Million’ pledge. More than 1,50,000 meals were provided across cities in Assam through the distribution of kits comprising essential food and hygiene items. KFC India had announced the ‘Feed a Million’ pledge earlier in the year to help impacted communities, with a commitment to provide 1 million meals to communities in need.
As the extended periods of lockdown continued, the brand doubled up the commitment and has now completed the distribution of more than 2 million meals across the country. With growing uncertainty around the situation of Covid-19, these kits are helpful in providing interim relief to families of daily wagers and migrant workers. Partnering with ResponseNet, these meals were distributed in Guwahati, Kokrajhar, Sonapur and other areas in Assam.
