AC toy train service started on Monday just before Durga Puja. Many MPs, MLAs, and district presidents of the BJP were present on this special occasion. Vistadome Troy train service with AC coach from New Jalpaiguri station to Darjeeling started from today.
GM Ansu Gupta, DRM SK Chaudhary along with BJP MP and state president Sukant Majumdar were present at the inauguration ceremony. Today, all of them flagged off the toy train in a brief inauguration ceremony at NJP station. According to railway sources AC Troy train left for Darjeeling today with about 50 passengers.
On this occasion, Darjeeling MP Raju Bisht said that today a new link has been added to the history of DHR. He said that the AC toy train service has started today. Passengers will enjoy traveling with the AC toy train in this festive season. Along with this, he said that the central government is making every possible effort to improve the Troy train.
Meanwhile, GM Ansur Gupta told reporters that the AC toy train will give tourists a new experience in the mountains during the festival season. Along with this, he also hoped that the number of tourists coming to the mountain would increase after the start of the AC toy train.
