JK Cement Ltd. has strengthened its eastern India strategy with the inauguration of its 3 MTPA Grey Cement Grinding Unit in Buxar, Bihar. The Bhavya Lokarpan ceremony was led by Samrat Choudhary, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, under the guidance of Nitish Kumar, and attended by Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Industries & Road Construction Minister, and Dr. Nidhipati Singhania, Vice Chairman, JK Cement.
Developed with an investment of approximately ₹500 crore, the 100-acre facility located on the Patna–Buxar highway began construction in March 2025. The commissioning marks a shift from dependence on supplies from Prayagraj to localized manufacturing, improving logistics efficiency, delivery timelines, and market responsiveness across Bihar and neighbouring regions.
Addressing the gathering, Choudhary said the project would boost employment and support Bihar’s infrastructure expansion. Managing Director Dr. Raghavpat Singhania described the plant as a strategic step in strengthening the company’s partnership in Bihar’s development journey, while Joint Managing Director & CEO Mr. Madhavkrishna Singhania highlighted Bihar’s strong infrastructure momentum and long-term growth potential.
With a total grey cement capacity of 31.26 MTPA and white cement and wall putty capacity of 3.05 MTPA, JK Cement operates across 15 states and exports to 36 countries. The Buxar unit is expected to enhance supply for housing, commercial, and infrastructure projects while stimulating ancillary industries and local economic activity.
