Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, has begun his recent official visit to Australia with a series of high-level engagements aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in skills and entrepreneurship. The visit commenced in Melbourne, where the Hon’ble Minister addressed the Australia India Business Council Event on the theme of skilling for the future. In his address, Shri Chaudhary underlined the importance of aligning training models with industry needs and highlighted the potential for India and Australia to jointly build responsive, future-ready skilling frameworks. During the visit, Shri Chaudhary held a bilateral meeting with the Hon. Andrew Giles, Minister for Skills and Training, Government of Australia. Furthering the engagements, Shri Chaudhary visited North Metropolitan TAFE (Technical and Further Education) in Western Australia, where he had a productive meeting with Ms. Jodie Wallace, Director General, Department of Training & Workforce Development; Jobs and Skills WA, and Ms. Michelle Hoad, Managing Director, North Metropolitan TAFE.
As part of the agenda, Shri Jayant Chaudhary also held discussions with Hon. Amber-Jade Sanderson, WA Minister for Skills and TAFE, and Jobs and Skills WA, along with visits to MA TAFE (Mining Campus) and the University of Western Australia, Perth for advancing India–Australia collaboration in vocational training, higher education, and future-ready skilling opportunities. In Brisbane, Shri Chaudhary met the Hon. Ros Bates, MP, Queensland’s Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment & Training. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Chaudhary said, “India and Australia share a strong commitment to equipping our youth with the skills needed for the economies of tomorrow.” The visit reaffirms the Government of India’s resolve to make India the global hub of skilled talent in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, while further strengthening India’s international partnerships in skills and entrepreneurship.
