Jayant Chaudhary inaugurates NSDC International Academy to boost global job prospects

Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (I/C) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, inaugurated the NSDC International Academy, a premier institution aimed at enhancing India’s global workforce. The academy will provide world-class skill training, focusing on international placements in countries such as Germany, Japan, and Israel.

The facility, designed as a Centre of Excellence, offers specialized training in foreign languages, including German (GOETHE, OSD), Japanese (JLPT), and English (ISLETS). During the inauguration, Shri Chaudhary flagged off 11 candidates departing for Germany, interacted with students, and explored the AI and VR-enabled labs. He emphasized the academy’s role in India’s shift towards global employment, stating, “Young India is moving beyond traditional careers. This academy equips them with skills, confidence, and global exposure.” NSDC CEO Ved Mani Tiwari highlighted the academy’s role in making India a “global skill capital.” With an ambitious target of training over 1,000 candidates annually, the institution aims to meet global workforce demands, particularly in caregiving, aviation, and Industry 4.0 sectors.

Guwahati, as a growing educational and skill hub, is set to benefit from initiatives like the NSDC International Academy. With increasing demand for skilled professionals in global markets, the academy’s training programs provide a pathway for Assam’s youth to access international career opportunities. Local businesses and industries in Guwahati can also tap into the upskilled workforce, fostering regional economic growth. The academy, with state-of-the-art classrooms, counselling facilities, and residential accommodation for 500 candidates, reinforces India’s commitment to “Viksit Bharat 2047” by preparing its workforce for the global stage.
