Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles celebrated Czech Day 2026 at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi, highlighting Jawa’s heritage, its Czech origins and its longstanding connection with Indian motorcycling culture.
Founded in Prague in 1929, Jawa introduced motorcycles such as the JAWA 500 OHV and JAWA 175 before gaining recognition for engineering innovations, including the Jawa Pérák. Its Indian journey began in 1960 with Ideal Jawa, building a loyal following across generations through motorcycling, motorsports and popular culture.
Jawa’s revival in India in 2018 marked a new chapter, led by the Jawa 42, which helped establish the modern classic motorcycle category. The company has since expanded its portfolio with the Jawa 42 FJ and Jawa 42 Bobber under its Jawa All Stars range.
Anupam Thareja, co-founder of Classic Legends, said Czech Day offered an opportunity to celebrate the brand’s origins while reflecting on its continuing journey in India. He added that the Jawa 42 brought the brand’s distinctive character to a new generation of riders.
In Kolkata, Jawa’s heritage-led positioning and expanding modern classic portfolio could appeal to buyers seeking distinctive styling and a connection with motorcycling tradition. The brand’s continued growth will depend on pricing, product appeal, service accessibility and competition in the city’s premium motorcycle segment.
