India hosts Trade & Investment Ministers’ Meeting in Jaipur from August 24-25. The meeting was led by, Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles.The major focus of the meeting was the adoption of the G20 Ministerial Statement on Trade & Investment.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the meeting through a video message. Prime Minister Modi said, “Trade and globalization have lifted crores of people out of extreme poverty.” Union Minister Piyush Goyal delivered the keynote address at a meeting focusing on reducing barriers to international trade and investment, boosting productivity, and promoting economic growth.
The meeting included a session on ‘Leveraging Technology for Paperless Business’, a special discussion on ‘Logistics for Trade’, and a wide-ranging discussion on ‘Multilateral Trade for Global Growth and Prosperity’. The Troika’s Ministers of Commerce and Industry from Indonesia and Brazil also participated.Delegates visited Amber Fort, attended cultural evening featuring local artists, and organized an Experience Zone to showcase Indian teas, coffees, spices, and millets, showcasing the ‘Jaipur Experience’.
