Isuzu Motors India celebrates one lakh vehicle rollout at Sri City plant

Isuzu Motors India has reached a major milestone with the rollout of its one lakhth vehicle from its Sri City manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh. The milestone was marked by the launch of the popular Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross, a model renowned for its durability and reliability. This achievement reflects Isuzu’s commitment to the Indian market, having doubled its vehicle production in just two years.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. N. Yuvaraj, Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, along with other dignitaries including Dr. RavindraSannareddy, Founder & MD of Sri City, and Makoto Sado, Chairman of the Sri City Japanese Company Group. Isuzu’s Sri City plant began operations in 2016 and has since expanded with the Phase-II launch in 2020, which included a Press Shop facility and an engine assembly plant. The company has now produced over 14,00,000 pressed parts at the facility.

In Kolkata, Isuzu’s increasing production and distribution network reflect a growing demand for robust, reliable vehicles, with the D-MAX V-Cross gaining popularity among urban and rural customers alike. As the company strengthens its presence across India, including Kolkata, it is poised to enhance its customer base and service offerings. Rajesh Mittal, President & MD of Isuzu Motors India, emphasized the company’s focus on quality and inclusivity, with 22% of its workforce being women and all production staff being diploma engineers. Looking ahead, Isuzu aims to further expand its touchpoints and offer innovative mobility solutions across India and globally.
