Although Apple has yet to unveil the flagship iPhone 17 series, early leaks have already begun surfacing about a more affordable model — the iPhone 17e, which is reportedly in development for a 2027 release. According to a leak from Apple’s supply chain, the iPhone 17e is expected to bring notable upgrades in design, display, and performance. This could make it a promising option for users seeking a budget-friendly iPhone.
A popular tipster, Digital Chat Station, shared details on Weibo suggesting the iPhone 17e will undergo a major design overhaul, though specifics remain unclear. One confirmed change is the replacement of the traditional notch with Dynamic Island, a feature missing from the iPhone 16e.
Under the hood, the device is likely to be powered by Apple’s upcoming A19 chip, delivering better performance. It will still retain a 6.1-inch OLED display with 60Hz refresh rate, a 48MP rear camera, and a 12MP front camera. Design-wise, the 17e may resemble the iPhone 15, featuring rounded edges and the Dynamic Island. Its launch is anticipated in early 2026, following the iPhone 17 series debut in September 2025.
