IOCL Bongaigaon refinery inaugurates 16-bed dialysis unit at Bongaigaon civil hospital

A state-of-the-art 16-bed dialysis unit, created under the Corporate Environment Responsibility (CER) initiative of IndianOil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bongaigaon Refinery (BGR), was formally inaugurated at the Bongaigaon Civil Hospital on Friday, providing a major boost to the region’s healthcare infrastructure. According to BGR sources, Barpeta Member of Parliament Phani Bhusan Choudhury graced the opening event and formally dedicated the new facility to the public. Along with other notable representatives from the Bongaigaon Health Department, the occasion featured the distinguished attendance of Dhruba Jyoti Das, Bongaigaon’s District Development Commissioner; Dr. BN Deka, Joint Director of Health Services; and Musukha Boro, General Manager, IOCL Bongaigaon Refinery. The newly-inaugurated unit marked a pivotal enhancement to the diagnostic and treatment capabilities of Bongaigaon Civil Hospital. The facility can now accommodate more patients thanks to its 16 operational beds, greatly enhancing access to vital dialysis services. It will be possible for Bongaigaon Civil Hospital to diagnose up to 48 patients every day.

MP Phani Bhusan Choudhury praised IOCL-Bongaigaon Refinery’s dedication to community welfare through its CER initiatives during his remarks during the opening. He expressed confidence that the unit will significantly help patients who require regular dialysis and underlined the critical role such facilities play in meeting the population’s expanding healthcare needs.
