New Delhi: The world is all set to mark the sixth International Yoga Day on June 21. International Yoga Day is celebrated since 2015 after it was proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in 2014. The idea behind the date was explained by PM and he said that the day is the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere, having special significance in many parts of the world. The objective of the celebration of Yoga Day is to raise awareness of the many benefits of practising yoga.
The theme of this year’s International Yoga Day is “Yoga at Home and Yoga with Family”. It is set keeping in mind the worldwide deadly coronavirus pandemic.
In a world like today where even kids are stressed, only physical activities can help us to stay stable and work properly. When it comes to physical activities there’s nothing better than practising yoga. It’s a small word with heavy benefits and every individual must practice yoga.
