Instamart has announced partnerships with electric mobility platform Yulu and battery-swapping network Yuma Energy to strengthen access to electric vehicles and charging infrastructure for its delivery partners.
The initiative aims to address two key barriers to EV adoption in last-mile delivery — access to affordable electric two-wheelers and charging-related downtime. Instamart said the programme can reduce rental expenses for participating delivery partners by up to 30%.
Under the partnership with Yuma Energy, Instamart is providing space at its PODs, or dark stores, for battery-swapping stations. Yuma currently operates more than 2,000 battery-swapping units, with each swap taking less than two minutes. Since delivery partners can cover more than 90 km a day on average, locating swapping stations closer to PODs could save up to 60 minutes of travel and waiting time daily.
Separately, Instamart’s collaboration with Yulu provides rental cashback incentives to delivery partners using Yulu electric two-wheelers. Launched in May 2026, the programme has already incentivised thousands of delivery partners.
Instamart, along with Swiggy, works with more than 50 EV partners across India. Instamart said the Yulu and Yuma partnerships will further strengthen its efforts to support electrification across its delivery fleet.
