Infosys Science Foundation announces Infosys Prize 2025 laureates honouring India’s brightest researchers

The Infosys Science Foundation (ISF) announced the winners of the Infosys Prize 2025, recognizing six exceptional scholars for their groundbreaking contributions in Economics, Engineering and Computer Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences. Each laureate receives a gold medal, a citation, and a prize purse of USD 100,000.

Among this year’s winners are Nikhil Agarwal (Economics) for his research on market design, Sushant Sachdeva (Engineering and Computer Science) for breakthroughs in algorithmic theory, Andrew Ollett (Humanities) for his scholarship in Prakrit languages, Anjana Badrinarayanan (Life Sciences) for genome maintenance studies, Sabyasachi Mukherjee (Mathematical Sciences) for advancing conformal dynamics, and Karthish Manthiram (Physical Sciences) for pioneering electrochemical routes for fertilizers.

K. Dinesh, President of ISF, congratulated the laureates, noting that their achievements reflect the “vital connection between research, science, and society.” Since 2024, the prize has emphasized recognizing researchers under 40, fostering early innovation in science. In Kolkata, academics and tech professionals hailed the announcement as a boost to India’s global research reputation. Institutions such as IISER Kolkata and Jadavpur University noted that such recognition motivates young scientists to pursue cutting-edge research and strengthens India’s position as a hub for innovation.
