IndusInd Bank has gone live with its next-generation UPI processing platform, marking a significant step in India’s evolving real-time payments ecosystem. The bank announced on Tuesday that its digital banking channels are now operating on the new system, branded as UPI 6.0, aimed at delivering faster transactions and near-zero technical glitches. Built by Mindgate Solutions, the sixth-generation upgrade runs on a hyper-scalable, cloud-ready and resilient architecture. The bank said it is the first private lender in the country to go live on the next-gen platform for both issuer and acquirer services on the cloud. The upgrade offers 30 per cent faster recovery time and up to 75 per cent higher scalability headroom within the existing infrastructure.
Ravi Pangal, Chief Information Officer at IndusInd Bank, said the move aligns with the bank’s digital-first strategy and commitment to improving customer experience. The platform is designed to ensure sub-second response times, seamless disaster recovery within minutes and uninterrupted payment services, even during peak transaction volumes.
In Guwahati, the upgrade is expected to benefit local merchants and small businesses that increasingly rely on UPI for daily transactions. Faster processing and improved reliability could enhance digital payment confidence in the region’s growing retail and service sectors. The launch strengthens IndusInd Bank’s Digital 2.0 vision of building a secure, resilient and future-ready banking ecosystem for customers and enterprises alike
