IndusInd Bank honours Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team after historic World Cup win

IndusInd Bank on Tuesday felicitated the Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team for their historic victory at the inaugural Women’s T20 World Cup for the Blind, marking a major milestone for inclusive sports in the country. The felicitation ceremony was held in Mumbai in collaboration with the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), an initiative of the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled. The event was attended by IndusInd Bank Managing Director and CEO Rajiv Anand, CABI Chairman Dr. Mahantesh Kivadasannavar, and senior officials of the bank. The team was presented with a cash reward in recognition of their achievement.

Speaking on the occasion, Anand said the team’s victory was a defining moment for women’s sports and inclusion in India. He reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to empowering persons with disabilities through long-term support.

In Guwahati, the achievement has drawn attention from sports bodies and disability rights groups, who see the win as an inspiration for visually impaired athletes across Assam and the Northeast. Local coaches said such recognition encourages more young players to take up blind cricket seriously.

IndusInd Bank has been supporting blind cricket under its CSR programme, “IndusInd Bank Cricket for Blind,” which provides training, equipment, nutrition, and financial assistance to players across India.
