On Monday, almost two lakh people in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore received COVID-19 vaccine shots, setting a new record for the highest number of immunizations in a single day for any district in the country. This is the world’s largest single-day number of jabs.
According to Indore Collector Manish Singh, over 2,21,663 persons were vaccinated in Indore as part of the “Vaccine Mahabhiyan,” making it the country’s biggest single-day number of jabs. When there was a problem with the server on a national level, a technical team of 70 individuals was organised, as well as a control room. The police went on city and countryside tours on a regular basis. The vaccine’s popularity was particularly seen in rural regions and among minorities. Some localities are on the verge of achieving 100% immunisation. Indore therefore achieved a new national record for the largest number of COVID-19 vaccines among cities. Everyone will need to obtain the vaccine within the next three days,” he said.
According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 17,56,775 persons in Indore have received their first dose, with 2,70,154 receiving their second dose.
