India’s first listing on the NSE Social Stock Exchange was attended by Shri. Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD & CEO of the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), Dr. R Balasubramaniam (Chairman, Advisory Committee, Social Stock Exchange, SEBI), Shri Ramesh Swami (Founder Director, Unnati), Shri. Ashwani Bhatia (Whole Time Member, SEBI) and other dignitaries during their visit to NSE today.
The NSE SSE has registered 38 more NPOs, offering a unique approach to impact investing. The exchange listing allows for checks and balances, including disclosure of fundraising purposes and timelines. Social audit firms audit annual impact reports, adding transparency.
Ashish Chauhan, managing director and CEO at NSE, believes SSEs provide advantages such as transparency, trust, efficiency, and cost savings. They create a space for philanthropists, impact investors, and NPOs to converge, contributing to a shared vision of a more sustainable and equitable future.
