Indian Govt Extends Import Duty Exemption On Tur, Urad Dal To March 2025

The govt.  said there will be no restrictions on import of tur and urad dal till March 2025 as part of efforts to support domestic supply and keep prices under control.

Tur and urad dal have been kept under free category, which means there will be no duties imposed on their imports, the policy came into effect from May 15, 2021 and it was valid till October 31, 2021.

“The free import policy of urad and tur stands extended up to March 31, 2025,” the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification.

At present, the free import policy for these pulses is active till March 2024.
