According to a survey conducted by the research wing of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), the wedding business is expected to register a record this year with around 35 lakh weddings and a turnover of around Rs 4.25 lakh crore, the highest ever.
Traders across the country, including Delhi, are gearing up and preparing themselves for the upcoming wedding season, the first spell of which will begin from November 23 to December 15.
“In Delhi alone, more than 3.5 lakh weddings are expected to take place this season, which could generate a business of around Rs 1 lakh crore in Delhi itself. Last year, around 32 lakh weddings took place during the same period and the expenditure was estimated at Rs 3.75 lakh crore,” said B C Bhartia, National President, CAIT.
During the 23 days of the wedding season, around 6 lakh weddings will have an estimated cost of Rs 3 lakh, while around 10 lakh weddings will cost around Rs 6 lakh, CAIT Secretary General Praveen said. Khandelwal. “Around 12 lakh weddings will cost about Rs 10 lakh per wedding, 6 lakh weddings will cost Rs 25 lakh, 50,000 weddings will cost Rs 50 lakh and 50,000 weddings will have a budget of Rs 1 crore or more.”
The next phase of the wedding season will start from mid-January and will continue till July.
“In view of the prospect of good business during the wedding season, traders across the country have made extensive preparations. Traders are making all arrangements with them to meet the possible rush of buyers.
