India, Tanzania strengthen ties with youth skilling initiatives

In a bid to empower the youth of both nations, India and Tanzania have joined forces for collaborative skilling initiatives. The announcement was made during a high-level meeting hosted by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), where Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, MSDE, welcomed the Tanzanian delegation led by Permanent Secretary Ms. Carolyne Nombo.

Tiwari emphasized the potential for mutual cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism, noting that Tanzania’s delegation will visit premier Indian training institutes like the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI), Noida, and Industrial Training Institute, Pusa Road. He also reflected on Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s honorary doctorate from an Indian university, highlighting it as a testament to the growing India-Tanzania relations.

The collaboration underscores India’s commitment to empowering youth through technical and vocational education and training (TVET), with initiatives such as the PM Vishwakarma Scheme benefiting millions. India’s TVET ecosystem, renowned for its alignment with global standards, has already played a pivotal role in shaping a skilled workforce.In Guwahati, the partnership is poised to open up new avenues for youth skill development in Assam, aligning with the region’s demand for skilled professionals in diverse sectors like tourism and agriculture, further bolstering employment opportunities.
