India triumphed at WorldSkills 2024 in Lyon, France, bagging 4 Bronze medals and 12 Medallions of Excellence across various skill sets. The Bronze medals were awarded in Patisserie and Confectionery, Industry 4.0, Hotel Reception, and Renewable Energy, underscoring the nation’s growing expertise in both traditional crafts and modern technologies.
Ashwitha Police, who won Bronze in Patisserie and Confectionery, also received the Best of Nation Award. Her achievement reflects India’s rising stature in the culinary arts, a feat celebrated across global markets, including Guwahati, where aspiring chefs find inspiration in her success.
With participants from 52 countries, India’s exceptional performance highlights the country’s commitment to skilling. Hon’ble Minister of State, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, praised the team’s efforts, emphasizing the role of skills in driving India’s future growth. India’s 12 Medallions of Excellence showcased its prowess in areas like Cyber Security, Mechatronics, and Web Technology, reinforcing the nation’s position as a global leader in innovation and craftsmanship.
