India-Kazakhstan joint military exercise “KAZIND – 2022” begins in Umroi, Meghalaya

The sixth Edition of Indo – Republic of Kazakhstan joint training “KAZIND-22” is conducted at Umroi (Meghalaya) from 15in to 28th Dec 2022. The scope of this exercise involves a general headquarters Exercise (CPX) at the Battalion level and Company level Field training (FTX) on sub-conventional operations. Throughout the exercise, participants can interact in type of missions starting from joint designing, joint plan of action drills, basics of special arms skills, HADR and marauding a hostile target. Joint annual training with the Republic of Kazakhstan Army was instituted in 2016 as Exercise Prabal Dostyk, that was later upgraded to an organization level exercise and renamed as Ex Kazind in 2018.

Kazakhstan Army troopers comprising of troops from the Regional Command, South and Indian Army troopers from the eleven Gorkha Rifles are collaborating within the exercise. Aim of the exercise is to make positive military relations, imbibe every other’s best practices and promote the flexibility to work along whereas endeavor counter terrorist operations in semi urban / jungle situation, underneath a world organization peace social control mandate. This joint exercise change the 2 armies to coach, set up and execute a series of combined plan of action drills for neutralising of doubtless threats which will be encountered in world organization peace keeping operations.
