On November 4, S. D. Dhaka, the principal secretary to Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, officially opened two new nursing and pharmacy schools under the Medhavi Skills University (MSU). “Empowering Dreams and Building Futures for Viksit Bharat” was the theme under which the colleges were founded. Prominent representatives from the government, business, and technology sectors attended the event, which focused on the possibilities of public-private partnerships to improve skill-based education in the state for job opportunities to local children.
To prepare students for the workforce and close the skills gap in quickly growing industries, like India’s semiconductor sector, Medhavi Skills University signed a number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with companies like LOGICKNOTS, Transorze Information Solutions Pvt Ltd, and Trika Energy Research Pvt Ltd, as well as with leaders in the hospitality sector like Club Mahindra Resort-Le Vintuna. In his remarks, Dhakal emphasized the need of practical and skills-based education for India’s development strategy for 2047, addressing skill gaps in various sectors, especially for young people, including those who have dropped out of school.
In addition, he commended MSU on the opening of the new colleges and pointed out that the university needs more nursing and pharmacy schools to bolster its healthcare industry. The mission of “Viksit Bharat 2047” is in perfect alignment with our dedication at Medhavi Skills University, according to Kuldip Sarma, “co-founder and pro-chancellor of the university. The goal of our new facilities and partnerships is to give students the industry-relevant skills they need to succeed in the real world as young people in our community throughout the world.”
