In Golaghat, awareness campaigns about child marriage and road safety were held

In the Golaghat district, 125 special awareness meetings were conducted at the gaon panchayat level with a focus on road safety, preventing child marriage, child labor, anemia, and drug usage. Road safety was the main topic of gram (village) and ward meetings held throughout the Golaghat district by the district administration, police, and other authorities. Participants in these events included representatives from the police, district administration, and other agencies. The purpose of the sessions was to raise awareness throughout the area and bring the problem of road safety down to the local level.

Respected lawmakers from the district, a variety of experts, resource people, administrative and law enforcement officials, and responsible individuals attended the sessions, discussing road safety and sending a constructive message to the public. The district government used the village meetings as a forum to discuss a number of other urgent socioeconomic issues. The events addressed issues such preventing child marriage, child labor, anemia, and drug misuse in addition to roadsafety awareness. They also talked about creative ways to increase public awareness of these issues.

A government meeting at the Bezbaruah Sports Complex in Golaghat, attended by Finance and Women & Child Development Minister Ajanta Neog along with district officials, focused on road safety and related issues, with about 500 participants pledging social responsibility. Similar parallel meetings were held across Dergaon and Sarupathar constituencies, attended by MPs and MLAs, where elected representatives urged public cooperation and shared their views on the discussed topics.
