In First Cabinet Meet, Punjab Govt. Passes Proposal To Provide 25,000 Govt Jobs, Says Bhagwant Mann

In its first meeting after being sworn in earlier today, the Punjab cabinet led via Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann authorized 25,000 government jobs in kingdom departments, boards and corporations.

While 10,000 jobs will be created in the police, 15,000 jobs will be created in different departments. The job vacancies will be notified in a month.

“The Punjab cabinet has approved notification of 25,000 job vacancies inside one month. As we promised earlier than the election, job opportunities for our Punjab’s childhood will be the topmost priority of AAP government,” Bhagwant Mann said in a tweet.

On Saturday, 10 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs, consisting of a woman, had been inducted into the Punjab Cabinet at an oath-taking ceremony in Chandigarh.

Governor Banwarilal Purohit administered the oath of workplace and secrecy to the 10 ministers at a ceremony at the Guru Nanak Dev auditorium in Punjab Raj Bhawan here. All of them took the oath in Punjabi.

Barring Harpal Singh Cheema and Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, eight others are first-time MLAs. These first-timers are Harbhajan Singh from Jandiala, Dr Vijay Singla from Mansa, Lal Chand from Bhoa, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer from Barnala, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal from Ajnala, Laljit Singh Bhullar from Patti, Bram Shanker Jimpa from Hoshiarpur and Harjot Singh Bains from Anandpur Sahib.

There are 18 berths in the cabinet, which includes the chief minister, but Bhagwant Mann has long past for a lean cabinet. In the cabinet, the birthday celebration gave illustration to 5 MLAs from Malwa, four from Majha and one from the Doaba region.

It has accommodated 4 MLAs who signify reserve constituencies — Dirba, Jandiala, Malout and Bhoa. Besides, four are Jat Sikhs and two are Hindus.

In a landslide victory, the AAP clinched 92 seats in the 117-member Punjab Assembly, decimating the Congress, the Shiromani Akali Dal-BSP combine, and the BJP-Punjab Lok Congress-SAD (Sanyukt) alliance.
