Ashok Singhal, Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Dhekiajuli MLA, formally inaugurated a Dialysis Centre at the Dhekiajuli Community Health Centre (CHC) in Sonitpur District as part of the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP). Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Singhal noted that this dialysis centre exemplifies the government’s unwavering commitment to delivering quality healthcare services to the people of Dhekiajuli and the state. He stressed that the state administration is working to ensure that no resident is denied life-saving medical treatment due to a lack of funds or facilities.
The opening of this dialysis clinic is a big step toward closing the region’s healthcare gap. Minister Singhal emphasized that Chronic renal Disease (CKD) is a growing public health concern, and that dialysis is an essential treatment for individuals suffering from renal failure. He stated that, in response to this critical demand, the Assam government, led by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, is extending dialysis services throughout the state. He noted that this new center will give free dialysis services to a large number of economically disadvantaged patients, giving many families hope and relief.
The Dhekiajuli Dialysis Centre, established under the Public-Private Partnership model, has three dialysis beds and can treat nine patients daily. The centre aims to meet rising demand in Sonitpur District and strengthen Assam’s dialysis care network. Minister Singhal distributed the first instalment of financial grants to 123 religious institutions in Dhekiajuli.
