Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, has strengthened its future-tech skilling efforts in Andhra Pradesh by certifying 750 students under the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) programme in Visakhapatnam. The certifications were awarded through back-to-back felicitation ceremonies held at Vignan’s Institute of Information Technology and DIET College, marking a key milestone in Samsung’s ongoing digital skilling initiatives.
At Vignan College, 500 students completed industry-oriented courses, with 250 trained in Artificial Intelligence and another 250 in Coding and Programming. The felicitation ceremony, held on December 12, was attended by senior officials and education leaders, who highlighted the growing demand for technology skills among India’s youth. On the same day, DIET College awarded certificates to 250 students who successfully completed specialised training in Artificial Intelligence.
The SIC programme, run by Samsung, focuses on building job-ready skills in Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Big Data and Coding. Implemented with support from Electronics Sector Skills Council of India and the Telecom Sector Skills Council of India, the initiative aligns with the Skill India and Digital India missions. Samsung aims to train 20,000 students across 10 states in 2025, significantly scaling up its reach. In eastern India, including Kolkata, demand for certified digital talent is steadily rising across IT services, startups and MSMEs adopting automation and data-driven operations. Programmes like Samsung Innovation Campus are seen as crucial in strengthening the local talent pipeline, supporting employability, and meeting the region’s growing need for skilled professionals in emerging technologies.
