“Cultivate a positive outlook towards life. Positive thoughts and positive actions create a positive vibe. Stay connected with nature and always remember that, as Srimanta Sankardev taught us, among the countless heavenly bodies in the universe, the Earth is unique and precious.” This was the message delivered by Special ADGP, Hiren Chandra Nath, Special ADGP, Special Branch, Assam Police, while addressing the newly inducted undergraduate students of Assam Royal Global University (RGU) on the second day of Deeksharambh 2026, the University’s annual Student Induction Programme, in Guwahati on Thursday.
Delivering an inspiring address, Nath urged the students to nurture optimism, discipline, and a positive mindset. Stressing the importance of physical and mental well-being, he said, “A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. Money lost is nothing lost, but health lost is everything lost.”
The Special ADGP advised the students to choose their company wisely, observing that a person’s character is greatly influenced by the people with whom they associate.
Encouraging them to remain close to nature, he remarked that Earth is the only known planet that sustains life and therefore deserves care, respect, and gratitude.
Drawing inspiration from the teachings of the great Vaishnavite saint Srimanta Sankardev, he reiterated that among the countless heavenly bodies in the universe, Earth occupies a unique place and must be preserved for future generations.
Nath further urged the students to remain respectful towards their parents, teachers, and everyone who contributes to their growth and well-being.
The police officer emphasised that kindness, humility, and good conduct create harmony and spread positivity wherever one goes. Calling upon the students to lead lives guided by discipline, integrity, and compassion, he encouraged them to become responsible citizens capable of making meaningful contributions to society.
During the 19-day student induction programme, the newly admitted students will participate in academic orientation sessions, expert lectures, interactive discussions, workshops, cultural programmes, and experiential activities designed to familiarise them with the University’s academic framework, student support services, research opportunities, innovation ecosystem, and holistic learning environment.
