Taj, Indian Hotels Company’s (IHCL) iconic brand, opened Taj Chia Kutir Resort & Spa, Darjeeling. The resort is situated in the world-renowned Makaibari Tea Estate, founded in 1859, and home to the world’s first tea factory. With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have six hotels in West Bengal including three under development. Mr Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, The Indian Hotels Company, said, “IHCL has put many destinations like Rajasthan, Goa and Kerala on the tourism map. Nestled amidst sun-kissed tea gardens, Taj Chia Kutir Resort & Spa is spread over 22 acres. The 72-room resort has panoramic views of the rolling hills. The design is inspired by the meandering tea terraces and blends with nature.
