IFAT India 2025, the country’s largest trade fair for water, sewage, solid waste, and recycling technologies, is set to take place from October 14–16 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (NESCO), Mumbai. Organised by Messe Muenchen India, this year’s edition is expected to be the biggest ever, spanning 45,000 sqm with over 500 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and attracting an estimated 28,000 trade visitors from 50 nations. Country pavilions from Germany, Canada, Netherlands, South Korea, Hungary, and Australia will strengthen the international presence.
Bhupinder Singh, President IMEA, Messe München, highlighted that India is at a critical juncture where waste and water solutions are essential for sustainable growth. “IFAT India has become a trusted platform for technology transfer, investment exploration, and business networking,” he said. The fair will host over 2,000 structured buyer-seller meetings and showcase 15,000+ solutions, ranging from effluent treatment to recycling automation, attracting corporates under ESG mandates.
In Guwahati, environmental and waste management companies see IFAT India as a strategic platform to explore advanced technologies for Assam’s growing urban centres. Local municipalities and private firms are keen to adopt solutions for solid waste management, sewage treatment, and bioenergy, reflecting a broader shift toward sustainable urban infrastructure in the Northeast. The three-day event will also feature 40+ technical sessions and 400+ speakers, including policymakers, financiers, and global sustainability experts. Dia Mirza will inaugurate the fair, calling it “a movement towards a greener, cleaner India.”
