ICICI Life Insurance targets 20,000 women advisors by FY27-end under Narishakti initiative

ICICI Life Insurance Limited plans to recruit 20,000 women advisors across India by the end of FY2027 under its Narishakti initiative, aiming to expand its women-led distribution network and strengthen its agency business.

Announced on the occasion of Navratri, the recruitment drive coincides with the second anniversary of the initiative, launched in 2024 to help women build careers as financial planners without upfront investment.

As of September 30, 2026, the company had more than 78,000 women advisors, who accounted for around 32% of its total advisors but contributed approximately 45% of its agency business. Their contribution has crossed 50% in Bengaluru, Kerala and Mumbai. Nearly 47% of the company’s women advisors have been associated with it for more than 10 years.

Amish Banker, Chief Distribution Officer of ICICI Life Insurance Limited, said, “We, at ICICI Life Insurance, firmly believe that ‘Talent has no gender’.”

He highlighted women’s empathy, commitment, loyalty, problem-solving abilities and understanding of customer needs as important strengths in insurance distribution. He added that Narishakti provides women with training and support to develop their capabilities and pursue professional growth.

The initiative offers flexible working schedules, enabling homemakers, salaried professionals and businesswomen to balance family responsibilities with their careers. The company said the expansion would also support the government’s vision of “Insurance for All by 2047” by strengthening insurance outreach and helping secure families nationwide.
