IBM’s survey reveals that 64% of hybrid cloud users in India have a formal policy for Generative AI, but barriers that initially slowed adoption are now impeding its implementation. Cloud leaders are concerned about privacy and confidentiality issues when adopting GenAI, despite the potential benefits of a hybrid cloud approach. They believe a cloud environment is essential for managing sustainability initiatives, but workforce skills deficiencies are affecting implementation, highlighting the need for improved cloud skills.
The IBM Cloud Transformation Report 2023 reveals that 68% of Indian decision-makers find cloud skills a top challenge, with 60% of cloud leaders citing security or compliance as a reason for shifting workloads. Additionally, 49% of Indians believe sustainability drives their digital transformation strategies, aiming to help organizations map their cloud transformation.
The Index, based on expert cloud professionals’ insights, helps enterprises measure progress and identifies growth opportunities. Surveyed by over 3,000 IT and business decision-makers across 12 countries and 23 industries. Viswanath Ramaswamy, Vice President – Technology, IBM India & South Asia commented, “It is heartening to see that about 85% of respondents have said they are creating new job positions to fulfil the need for cloud skills in this Generative AI era.”
